| Why to have created a contest ? |
Many
are the keen and impassioned users of the Texas Instruments calculators !
For several years, the number of programs (mathematical, utilities, games) have
not ceased growing.
Some are of quality, like Street of Rage, Equation Writer, etc, etc ...
Since the availability of TI-92 in 1995, I remain convinced that the Texas Instruments calculators are real teaching aids (facility of use, speed, user interface, automatic simplification quality, updates ...)
But what takes part in the famous of a product is also what revolves around this one : web sites, programs, exchanges between the users ...
It
thus seemed normal to me "to give pleasure" to the users by creating
a programming contest.
This idea held all the attention of Texas Instruments
which did not hesitate to support it !
You will find more information in the section Rules of the Contest.
| Who can take part? |
The
contest is accessible to everyone ! There is no restriction for the age.
All the users can take part : TI-82, TI-83, TI-83 Plus, Ti-83 Plus Silver Edition,
TI-85, TI-86, TI-89 and TI-92 Plus.
The users of the series of TI-83 will
not be in direct competition with those of TI-89 and TI-92 Plus. (Winners per
series)

| The
games can be written with the integrated language (Ti-BASIC), or directly for
the Z80 processor. Programs should not use kernels/shells (nostub). On the other
hand, they can use routines or libraries if that is necessary. These libraries
should not obligatorily be created by the participant of the game, if the author
gives his agreement. It is authorized to you to use development tools like TI-83 Plus SDK (the official development tool) or Assembly Studio 8x. If you are already the author of a program, it is authorized to present it ! It is however not authorized to take again an existing source, and to modify it. The programs must be sent to contest@ti-cas.org with a screenshot and must be limited to 2 per category.
